Lots of things going on in the coming month!!

Tonight! Friday, April 13th the High School Concert Band will perform at Hanover Central High School (10120 W 133rd Ave, Cedar Lake, IN 46303) for ISSMA competition at 7:30 pm.  They could certainly use a cheering section.  Come on out and support our HS Concert Band.

Booster Board Nominations/Voting Next Month
We are looking for some fresh faces to help serve on our Booster Board.  The board meets monthly before the monthly booster meeting.  You can nominate yourself or someone you think would help our band program.  Submit your nominations before our next booster meeting, where we will vote.  Nominate someone today!

Band Banquet
We will be hosting our annual Band Banquet on May 17th in the High School Cafeteria.  Invitations will mailed soon.  Cost is $10 per person (senior class students and children under 3 are free).  You can RSVP now.

Upcoming Marching Season
The summer schedule will be completed soon and sent home with the marching band contracts. Some of the highlights for the upcoming marching season are:
  • Drumline Starts 4/16
  • Rookie Marching will start late April
  • Payment Plans available for marching fees
  • Band Camp starts 7/31
  • The Marching band will have 3 home games and 5 contests this season

Orders due in on 4/23, Delivery 5/15 after the concert!  Money is collected when orders are delivered.

Did you, or someone in your family buy a mattress at the mattress fundraiser?  We are looking for feedback on what everyone thought of this fundraiser in order to access if it's worth doing in the future.  Please comment to let us know your thoughts!

First all of THANK YOU to those that came out to support the band this past weekend at our festival. It was a success. Now onto this week it is pretty busy with the homecoming football game, competition and the dance. Below is from Mr. Blocker regarding the schedule for those events, Also we are still needing some help with feeding the kids and pit crew. Perfect time to help if your kid is wanting to go to homecoming you will need to be at the competition to pick your child up in order for your child to go to the dance. 2021 Marching Season is upon us

THIS WEEK IN MARCHING... All the things! Inbox Marching season is in full swing and competitions are just around the corner.  HIGHLAND MARCHING FESTIVAL - SEPT. 18TH This is a HUGE event  and we need all parent-hands-on-deck. June 2017 Newsletter

Summer is an exciting time for the Highland Bands!  The Marching Trojan Pride (MTP) begins their practices by working on music for the three 4th of July parades! After a bit of time off, the Marching Trojan Pride starts Band Camp, preparing for their contest season! Beginning Band will begin to learn their new instruments right before school starts! If you've ever wondered what the benefits of music are in your child's life, PBS put a great article on The Benefits of Music Education . The Band Calendar for the 2017-2018 School Year is now available online! Disney Mr. Blocker will hand out the packets for Disney participants next week during parade practice on Tuesday, June 20th.  We will have a notary in the band room for the medical forms on both June 27th and June 28th from 5-6pm in the High School Band Room, please bring your photo ID.  These papers need to be turned in by July 3rd.  A packet will be required for each person going to Disney, students...
