Kankakee Valley ~ Competition Week
First all of THANK YOU to those that came out to support the band this past weekend at our festival. It was a success. Now onto this week it is pretty busy with the homecoming football game, competition and the dance. Below is from Mr. Blocker regarding the schedule for those events, Also we are still needing some help with feeding the kids and pit crew. Perfect time to help if your kid is wanting to go to homecoming you will need to be at the competition to pick your child up in order for your child to go to the dance. Please see below for sign ups and how to get your kid for the dance.
We're asking each Band family to donate 1 case of water. If you have not brought your water in please do so.
Tuesday: FULL ENSEMBLE 6-9pm
Rain? if not- we will work in stadium (may need to start on our field)
Thursday:6-9pm Rehearsal
FRIDAY: Homecoming GAME Report 5pm SET UP EQUIPMENT, Water, etc.
ALL on practice field 100% ready to perform by 5:55pm to stretch
Saturday: KV HS Contest
1:30pm ARRIVE to LOAD TRAILER
2:15 Load Bus and Depart
3:30 Arrive at KV, unload, BANDWICHES, change into performance gear
4:45 PIT HELPERS NEED TO BE WITH THE BAND AT THIS TIME TO BE READY TO TRANSIT WITH THE BAND
4:55 Lined up ready to PHYSICAL WARM UP transit to warm up
6:15 MTP PERFORMANCE
return to trailer, change, load UP - clean up. then GO WATCH OTHER BANDS
TRAILER WILL DEPART after we are loaded - (saves us $$)
9:30 AWARDS
10:00 Depart
11:15 Arrive at HMS parking lot - unload - CLEAN BAND ROOM
Parents: please COME TO KV and CHEER US ON!
HOMECOMING DANCERS!!: you MUST have a PARENT sign you out with Mr. Blocker at the BAND TRAILER. I will have a “sign out sheet” there immediately following our performance. NO- you can’t leave with a “friend” - even if you have a note! ANY “SPECIAL” permissions must be arranged with Mr. Zack, HHS Principal.
