Congratulations Marching Trojan Pride  on your GOLD! EVENTS Tie-Dye Night - Friday, September 27th 6pm-8pm.  Cost is $5 for tie-dye supplies, pizza & soda. Bring your own t-shirts.  White shirts with color and black shirts with bleach. Bowling Night - Tuesday, November 26th.   Lanes reserved at Stardust Bowling Lanes in Dyer. Cosmic bowling fun for all. FUNDRAISERS QPon Books.  These are coming at the end of September.  They will cost $20 and are filled with fantastic savings on establishments in Northwest Indiana.  Each book sold earns your Band Student $5.00 in their Student Account. Fall Craft Show - November 9 & 10. This is one of the most profitable fundraisers. 97 spots are filled so far. Highland Contest Week of Sept 7 Welcome to our first TWIB for contest weeks!  We've emailed the Sept & Oct calendar with contest locations updated. If you wanted a show shirt and didn't get one... please send me your size by Thursday and we will get a 2nd order in. Welcome back! Who are the Band Boosters? Quite simply, a Band Booster is YOU, the band parents.  You don the hat of cheerleader, fundraiser, water provider, seamstress, event planner, chaperone and/or pit crew.  We play many roles to support our bands.  We can't be successful without the help of YOU!  There is no fee, everyone is welcome! It's a great time to get involved and share your time and talent with us. Your 2019-2020 Band Booster Board President: Trisha Laich 1st VP (Events): Jim Walker 2nd VP (Fundraising): Stephanie Waldron Treasurer: Michelle Walter Secretary: James Goodman Raffle Tickets Our first fundraiser of the season will be raffle tickets. These will go home with your Band Student on Monday, August 26. Tickets are $5 each.  We ask that each Band Student help sell a minimum of 10 tickets to help with raising needed funds.  The raffle winner is drawn during the Marching Invitational held at Highland High School Field on Septembe

April 2019 Newsletter Student Account Balances Student's accounts were updated for the April booster meeting, including outstanding balances from ISSMA and Marching band.  Please try and make payments by May 1st to Highland Band Boosters.  If you have questions or need to make arrangements, please reach out! Century Resources Order forms went home with kids last week.  Don't forget you can order online as well!  New this year, you can just make a donation to your student online!  Order forms are due to Mr. Blocker by April 22. Band Banquet Invitations will be given out at the concert on April 17th.  Please stop by the booster table to grab your invitation.  You can RSVP online , at the table or by sending in the envelope with your payment to Mr. Blocker by May 3rd.  We are asking a few parents to donate dessert or drinks.  Please email us if you are able to donate an item! March 2019 Newsletter Mattress Fundraiser Our Mattress fundraiser is this weekend! Have you shared the event on Facebook ? Invited your family and friends? Remember, not only does the band earn money, but your child earns money for each sale they refer! Thirty One Fundraiser We are trying something new! A Thirty One Fundraiser! Many of our parents use Thirty One bags when traveling, especially to marching competitions. They are having a customer special on travel bags this month. We receive 25% of all orders! Join the Facebook party ! Disney 2019 The marching band will be going to Disney Oct 24-28, 2019. All registrations need to be completed by April 1, 2019 so that we have a good headcount and know how much paperwork we need to prepare. We will have a paperwork night after our May booster meeting on May 13th. This will be mandatory to receive all paperwork, medical forms, permission slips, etc. We will have our notaries there to notarize medical forms

February 2019 Newsletter Congrats to all of our students who performed at ISSMA Solo & Ensemble! We had a record number of students qualify for state competition this year!  Congrats to Adalia Alston, Ellie Davis, Sierra Laviolette, Shivam Patel, Alyana DelaCruz, Logan Juran, Jude Salanio and Phil Bock (2 solos)!  These students will also compete this Saturday in Indianapolis!  Good luck! We also want to send out a huge congrats to junior Phil Bock for making all state honor band on piccolo! Scrip Booster Parent Stephanie Waldron has graciously set us up with Scrip !  Thank you for your help with this!! Our first order for plastic cards will be on March 1st. Once you are signed up and have an account you can put in your own order online and pay with the prestopay feature or print the emailed shopping list, fill it out, and send it in to Mr. Blocker with a check made out to Highland Band Boosters.  The prestopay takes a couple of days to set up so please do not wait unti

January 2019 Newsletter Welcome to 2019!  We hope you've been enjoying it so far and that your band students have had a great start to their year and are ready for their ISSMA performances! The next few weeks are a busy one for the band! Upcoming Dates for Jan/Feb 1/26 - ISSMA Solo & Ensemble @ Wilbur Wright MS in Munster 2/7 - Pep Band : MS Night!  7-8th graders are invited to join our HS band for pizza before the Pep performance @ 5pm.  Students will get an RSVP form via Google Classroom from Mr. Blocker.  We want to make sure we have enough pizza! 2/8 - Quarterly Band Fun Night - Pizza & Movie Night @ 6pm.  Students will get an RSVP and will vote on the movie we will watch! 2/11 - Booster Meeting followed immediately by a mandatory Marching & Disney 2019 meeting! Marching 2019 Now is the time for your 7th-HS student to consider if they are going to march for our 2019 season.  We will be holding a mandatory meeting after our booster meeting on Feb
