Dear Band Family, We are working on a few things mentioned in our recent newsletter and wanted to provide some updates to the questions you might have: 1. Epic Popcorn Fundraiser - We are working with Epic to see if we can postpone turning in forms and delivery for the best day/night available after we know when we will be back at school. 2. Craft Fair - Ms. Trish is working with our fabulous crafters to see if they would attend an event after Easter or if we will cancel the Spring Show.  The Craft Fair will NOT be held on April 4th. 3. Mattress Fundraiser - The Mattress Fundraiser is canceled for April 4th.  If you have a yard sign advertising this, please remove it from your yard. Thank you. 4. Band Spring Concert - Since school will now be closed on April 9th, the concert will be postponed possibly.  More details will be shared when we have a better decision from the school and the Band Director. March 2020 Newsletter Happy Ads for the 2020 Spring Concert Would you like to place a happy ad for your student in our Spring 2020 Concert Program?!  We are trying something new this year for you to place an ad shout out to your student!  You can include a photo (Please email the photo to  HighlandBandBooster@gmail.com ) or just text with graphics.  We can create the ad for you, or you can create it yourself and email it to us.   We need all the ads by Monday, March 30th in order to create the program! February 2020 Newsletter Congrats to all the students participating at the ISSMA Solo & Ensemble Contest in February Band FUN Night - Roller Skating! The boosters are hosting a roller skating band fun night on February 20th at Lynwood Skating from 6-9pm! We have rented out the rink and all band members and their families are invited to come! The more the merrier! The cost for this event is $10/person which covers entry fees, skate rental, pizza, and soda. The snack bar will also be open and you can purchase other food on your own. January 2020 Newsletter Congrats to Mr. & Mrs. Blocker! They welcomed a new baby son, Milo Robert into their family 1/21/2020! ISSMA Recital Night On February 6th, Mr. Blocker & Mr. Leonard-White would like to host an ISSMA recital night. This will give our students another chance to play their ISSMA solo and ensemble pieces. This a great way for the students to perform their pieces before an audience before the actual contest. The students will be arranged in small groups consisting of varying grades and instruments for performance blocks. You can come and stay for as much or as little as you'd like! We will have performances starting at 5 and lasting until around 9pm. Performances will be in both the cafeteria and the library. The band and orchestra boosters are going to host a Taco Bar in the cafeteria. We are asking for a donation of $5/person to help offset the costs of the food and drinks. Bring your own t-shirts.  White shirts with color and black shirts with bleach. Bowling Night - Tuesday, November 26th.   Lanes reserved at Stardust Bowling Lanes in Dyer. Cosmic bowling fun for all. If you wanted a show shirt and didn't get one... please send me your size by Thursday and we will get a 2nd order in.
