Highland Contest Week of Sept 7

Welcome to our first TWIB for contest weeks!  We've emailed the Sept & Oct calendar with contest locations updated.

If you wanted a show shirt and didn't get one... please send me your size by Thursday and we will get a 2nd order in.

Sign-ups are created for all contest weekends to feed our kids.  Please consider signing up for at least one spot.  https://signup.com/go/BSRfrDO

Here's the schedule for this week:

HIGHLAND MARCHING INVITE WEEKEND

Tues: 6:30- 8:30 Marching Percussion Rehearsal
Wednesday: 6-9pm FULL BAND
Thursday: Enjoy your day off!
Friday: 3:30-5:30 FULL BAND (senior FULL UNIFORM PICS prior to rehearsal - papers should have come home with your student, should be brought back by Friday to be given to the photographer)

Saturday:
7-12 Graders performing SSB: MEET AT FB SCOREBOARD (with instrument and SSB MUSIC) at 7pm

Marching BRASS: also join at scoreboard by 7pm for SSB performance

All “non marching HS” students are needed for guides for the visiting bands. - please use “sign up.com” for spot selection!

FULL BAND: lined up dress, instruments EVERYTHING in pool hallway by 8:15pm to go to WARM UP (in front of MS).

LOOKING AHEAD - HOBART CONTEST WEEK

Monday: 3:30-5 Sectionals
Tuesday: 6-9 FULL BAND
Weds: Enjoy your day off!
Thursday: 6-9 FULL BAND
Friday: GAME - 5pm doors open ; on practice field by 6 with everything.  4 parents for pit/podium!

Saturday:
12:30pm Doors open
1-3pm  REHEARSAL IN STADIUM
3:15 PM LOAD TRAILER (instruments FIRST!)
4pm depart HHS
 Bandwiches before uniforms (15 minutes)
 Band fully dressed/assembled by 5:38pm
5:40pm LINED UP for warm ups
6:30 Performance
 Students change out of uniforms and load up trailer (not DMs) and go SIT AS ONE UNIT in
home side bleachers (students on own for concession $$)
8:45  AWARDS
9:00ish DEPART for HHS and TRAILER EMPTY before ANYONE LEAVES

Inbox Marching season is in full swing and competitions are just around the corner.  HIGHLAND MARCHING FESTIVAL - SEPT. 18TH This is a HUGE event  and we need all parent-hands-on-deck.   We hope you are all well and settling into the new school year. Marching Competitions are just around the corner. We need your support to keep the kids hydrated and full of energy. WATER DONATIONS We're asking each Band family to donate 1 case of water.   You can bring it to the school when you drop off your Marcher for practice on September 7th, 9th or before the Home Game on the 10th. Kankakee Valley ~ Competition Week

First all of THANK YOU to those that came out to support the band this past weekend at our festival. It was a success. Now onto this week it is pretty busy with the homecoming football game, competition and the dance. Below is from Mr. Blocker regarding the schedule for those events, Also we are still needing some help with feeding the kids and pit crew. Perfect time to help if your kid is wanting to go to homecoming you will need to be at the competition to pick your child up in order for your child to go to the dance.
