July 1 - Car Wash Fundraiser!!

Car Wash at Elks on 45th in Highland 10am - 2pm
Share with all your friends!!
We need kids to come wash cars and a few grown-ups to help supervise! We are also in need of some towels to help dry cars. 
 
Cross your fingers there is no rain!

July 3 - Highland Parade

Meet at HHS band room in SUMMER UNIFORM (band polo, like khaki/tan shorts, white shoes and socks, brown belts) by 5:30 pm.  We will walk down to Merkly (Erie & 42nd st corner) to stage for the parade. 
 
Let family/friends know to sit NORTH of 42nd street in order to see the band!
 
After the parade, students will back to HHS.  If you want to pick up your child, parents can meet us at the corner of 5th and Highway (by OLG/Main Square).  Large instruments need to be brought back to HHS (percussion/tuba/baritone/tenor sax).
 
If you have a van/truck - we could use your help for the trip back to the school to carry instruments!

July 4 - Griffith & Munster Parades

Meet at HHS band room in SUMMER UNIFORM by 9 AM.  We will take a bus over to Griffith, St. Mary's parking lot for staging of the parade.  The bus will pick us up at Main/Broad to come back to HHS for lunch!
 
After lunch... kids will hop back on the bus over to Munster HS for staging of the parade.  Parade starts at 2pm. We're unsure of the lineup, so no clear time for finishing.  Typically we are done and back to HHS by 4pm.

We still need a few parents for each parade to help "water" the kids during the parade, especially if it's hot!

Kankakee Valley ~ Competition Week

First all of THANK YOU to those that came out to support the band this past weekend at our festival. It was a success. Now onto this week it is pretty busy with the homecoming football game, competition and the dance. Below is from Mr. Blocker regarding the schedule for those events, Also we are still needing some help with feeding the kids and pit crew. Perfect time to help if your kid is wanting to go to homecoming you will need to be at the competition to pick your child up in order for your child to go to the dance. Inbox Marching season is in full swing and competitions are just around the corner.  HIGHLAND MARCHING FESTIVAL - SEPT. 18TH This is a HUGE event  and we need all parent-hands-on-deck.
