Welcome back!

Who are the Band Boosters?

Quite simply, a Band Booster is YOU, the band parents.  You don the hat of cheerleader, fundraiser, water provider, seamstress, event planner, chaperone and/or pit crew.  We play many roles to support our bands.  We can't be successful without the help of YOU!  There is no fee, everyone is welcome! It's a great time to get involved and share your time and talent with us.

Raffle Tickets

Our first fundraiser of the season will be raffle tickets. These will go home with your Band Student on Monday, August 26. Tickets are $5 each.  We ask that each Band Student help sell a minimum of 10 tickets to help with raising needed funds.  The raffle winner is drawn during the Marching Invitational held at Highland High School Field on September 7.

Marching Invitational - September 7 - Highland High School Field

This will be the first show of the Marching Band Season. All STOH Band Families will receive complimentary passes to attend. Our 7th-12th grade Band Students will be performing the National Anthem. Come out and watch and support the Highland Band. We are also looking to fill some volunteer spots to ensure this event goes off with success.  Please CLICK HERE to help by signing up for a shift and support the Band.

Marching Invitational Ad's for Program

You can also support our fundraising efforts by contacting a business you own or frequent in the NWI area by asking to place an ad in our Progam for the Marching Invitational.  We have attached the Ad Cover Letter and Ad Agreement forms to this email.  Feel free to print them out and bring them the next time you shop or dine in one of your favorite businesses.

Spirit Wear Store

Coming soon!  You and your Band Student will have an opportunity to purchase Spirit Wear to show your support of the Highland Bands. Watch for more details coming soon in an upcoming newsletter.

Student Accounts

All student account information has been updated in CHARMS.  What is a student account?  Each student who participates in certain Band fundraising activities earns a portion into their student account.  This system allows students to make withdrawals of their student accounts to pay for band-related expenses such as ISSMA, SmartMusic, Instrument Cleaning Fees and Marching Fees. CHARMS training will be forthcoming in the September newsletter.

Kankakee Valley ~ Competition Week

First all of THANK YOU to those that came out to support the band this past weekend at our festival. It was a success. Now onto this week it is pretty busy with the homecoming football game, competition and the dance. Below is from Mr. Blocker regarding the schedule for those events, Also we are still needing some help with feeding the kids and pit crew. Perfect time to help if your kid is wanting to go to homecoming you will need to be at the competition to pick your child up in order for your child to go to the dance. Inbox Marching season is in full swing and competitions are just around the corner.  HIGHLAND MARCHING FESTIVAL - SEPT. 18TH This is a HUGE event  and we need all parent-hands-on-deck.
