TWIB: Raffle Tickets & 2017 Marching Invitational

Raffle Tickets:


Raffle tickets will be sent home today and tomorrow with your band child.  All families are asked to try and sell 5 tickets.  Tickets are $5 each.  Prizes are $500, $250 and $100!  The winners will be drawn at our Marching Invitational on September 16th.  Please turn in any sold AND unsold tickets to Mr. Blocker by September 8th.

Marching Invitational:

Speaking of the Marching Invitational, the time for the invitational was changed from noon to 2pm.  What is the Marching Invitational?  We host 7 bands from around the area at our school to perform their marching show for judging.  It's a great time to see what marching band is all about!  Our very own 7th-12th graders will be performing the National Anthem at 1:45.  Please keep an eye out for more information on this.  We will need a lot of help with ensuring the invitational is a success.

Football Game THIS Friday!

Marchers!  Call time for the game is 5pm.  Show up in the band room, ready to practice at 5pm in your black compression gear and LONG black socks (calf length NOT ankle length!)

We will need 6 parents to help with the podium and pit for halftime performance.

Everyone is invited out to sit and cheer on the band at the game!  We sit right behind the band near the press box.

Need!  We need water donations!  The Marching Band needs 70 bottles per game and per band contest trip.  We are currently OUT.  If you can donate a case of water, just send it in with your child and we'll ice it to keep everyone hydrated!

Kankakee Valley ~ Competition Week

First all of THANK YOU to those that came out to support the band this past weekend at our festival. It was a success. Now onto this week it is pretty busy with the homecoming football game, competition and the dance. Below is from Mr. Blocker regarding the schedule for those events, Also we are still needing some help with feeding the kids and pit crew. Perfect time to help if your kid is wanting to go to homecoming you will need to be at the competition to pick your child up in order for your child to go to the dance.
