TWIB (Marching): September 5 - 9

Below is our itinerary for the week!  Please note, we have a home game on Friday that was not originally scheduled for home.  No after school practice on Friday, come prepared for the game at 5pm!
  
For the KV contest: We feed the kids bandwhiches, chips, fruit and dessert.  The boosters provide the bandwhiches, we need a couple families volunteer to bring individual servings of chips, fruit and dessert! Also, bottles of water are always needed for home games and contest days!  Please email the Boosters and let us know what you can bring!

Week 1
Itinerary

 
Tuesday: Sectionals
Wednesday: Full Ensemble on Practice Field
Thursday: NO REHEARSAL (as originally scheduled)
Friday: Game (not on original schedule)
  •  5pm call time - dressed in compression
  •  -parent note- NO food in uniform, no beverages except water.  Students will have 3rd quarter to get their concessions NOT in their marching jacket.  Also - no phones at field.  All phones will remain in their lockers in the HS band room.
Saturday: KV HS Contest

  • 11:00 AM Load Trailer: Student Instruments MUST be loaded first. THEN return to gather uniform/hats/shoes.  PIT cymbals must be bagged
  • 11:45 AM Depart for KV!
  • 12:45 PM Arrive at KV - Change into Uniform, Assemble instruments, Line up!
  • 1:55 PM  Physical Warm-Up
  • 3:06 PM  PERFORM
  • After performance we return to trailer to change, load equipment and instruments.
  • Students Return to stadium AS A GROUP to watch remaining bands and HAVE CONCESSIONS (bring $$)
  • 5:20 PM  Awards 
  • 6 PM-ish  Depart for HHS
  • 7 PM return to HHS and HELP UNLOAD x3 trips.
Parents:  We need at least 10 “roadies” to help move equipment to/from stadium. If you can help, please let us know.

Kankakee Valley ~ Competition Week

First all of THANK YOU to those that came out to support the band this past weekend at our festival. It was a success. Now onto this week it is pretty busy with the homecoming football game, competition and the dance. Below is from Mr. Blocker regarding the schedule for those events, Also we are still needing some help with feeding the kids and pit crew. Perfect time to help if your kid is wanting to go to homecoming you will need to be at the competition to pick your child up in order for your child to go to the dance. Inbox Marching season is in full swing and competitions are just around the corner.  HIGHLAND MARCHING FESTIVAL - SEPT. 18TH This is a HUGE event  and we need all parent-hands-on-deck.
